David and Shaun Carter here at Hunter Valley Equine are devoted to the traditional art of horse breaking and education. David and Shaun have many years of experience working with horses and specialise in Thoroughbred horse breaking and education. When the horses leave the Strathearn Lodge facility they will be properly started under saddle.

At the end of the break-in the horse will be able to achieve the basics. Respect in all aspects of handling, ridden at all paces, stopping, turning and flexing. The horse will be trained in flat work and ridden on the property in a general sense, exposing them to many different scenarios. The horse will be able to tie up and have transport loading lessons. During the fourth phase of education the horse will be taught to load and leave a race barrier in preparation for the next stage of training.

The horses David & Shaun break-in and educate are renowned for their softness and flexibility, giving them excellent grounding and are ready for work, it’s that simple.
